Apple Orchard Fun

We went to apple orchard near our house and bought apple cider. Then we walked around and played in the hay piles, corn maze, and went on a nature walk. It was really fun, and the boys had a blast. I love all the changing colors.

Only 359 days left of being in my 20's

So I turned 29 on the 5th and I am a little weirded out that this is the last year of being in my 20"s. I told Burr I needed to do something crazy like get my nose pierced. He thought I was being serious and said no way. So maybe I was being a little serious. It seams like once you hit thirty you have to grow up. I don't feel ready for that. Even though I have been married for 8 years and have 3 little boys I still fell really young (or just immature). I had an awesome birthday. Burr bought me a sewing machine, which I love! I went to Joanne's to get some things and I started my first project, two jean quilts for the boys. Burr bought me an ice cream cake from DQ, and we went out to dinner as a family. It was such a fun day.

Happy baby

Bryce is growing so fast. He started smiling last month. He is a very happy baby that loves to be held and cuddled. I wish I could sit and hold him all day long and probably would if I didn't have two others that need me. I love my boys!

Finished project

With a little help and a lot of encouragement from a great friend I finally finished a knitting project. I love the way it turned out. I meant to make it for Bryce but it actually fits Brock better. Next project a binki attachment.

"Look mom it's Joseph Smith"

I gave the boys some fudge pops and after wiping up some of the mess Brekken discovered this.

Do you see it? It totally looks like him. I died laughing when Brekken told me, "look mom its Joseph Smith." O.K. so it looks like a profile of a man with a beard right.

Oh how I HATE sticky children. But they are pretty cute.

strawberry picking

Last week we went to a farm just 15 minutes outside of town to do some strawberry picking. Brekken was so excited about finding "the best ones". Brock had fun also stepping on the strawberry plants. Arrrg! He is so fast. Bryce and mom didn't do a whole lot of picking. He was upset that he was woken up from a good nap. The strawberries were delicious and I made jam with my friend Leslie Terry with most of it. My batch didn't turn out but it is some great tasting syrup to go on pancakes and ice cream. I can't wait for raspberries.

My new addiction

Yes that is my knitting. I am officially a grandma. You can laugh if you want but I love it! My very talented friend here in Lincoln got me hooked. She knits these amazing wool sweaters that would probably cost you hundreds of dollars. They are beautiful and I want to someday be able to make them as well. for know I will be sticking with scarves.

8 years of Bliss

Today we celebrated our 8th year anniversary. I can't believe it has been that long. Time really does seem to fly by. Burr took me to a nice restaurant in down town Lincoln called Dish. It was so much fun to get dressed up and eat somewhere fancy. Our great friend Celeste watched Brekken and Brock but we took Baby Brice along. Burr I love you so much! You are my rock and best friend. Thank you for a wonderful 8 years.

Milk Pits

So I'm not very good at covering up while breast feeding and with little boys in the house I really should be more modest. Brekken has been very curious about what I am doing and why I ask him to go away for a little bit while Bryce has some alone time with mom. One morning he woke up and came into the our bedroom while I was nursing. He hopped right onto the bed and was just so curious. This is our conversation...

Brekk: Mom what are you doing?
Me: I'm feeding baby Bryce
Brekk: Your feeding him out of there?
Me: Yes he eats from mommy, thats how he gets his milk.
Brekk: Mom I have milk pits too, see (he lifts up his shirt and points to his nipples), I have milk too, to feed the baby.

I had to look away so I wouldn't laugh. Seriously I need to be more discrete.

Hospital stay and Jaundice

I have been wanting to post about our stay at the hospital and now have a little time to do so. We got to the hospital at 6:15 a.m. on Friday and they started the pitosin at 8 a.m. I really didn't want to get induced but decided I shouldn't wait any longer if I wanted help from Sharon. The pitosin started working about 20 minutes later. At 9 am Dr Dziko broke my water after which I was 3 cm. At about 11 am I was at 7 cm and stayed that way until this guy finally turned and I was ready to push. The nurse kept saying as soon as this little s**t turns you will feel a lot more pain and pressure and you will be ready to push. No joke. My nurse was really feisty and used a lot of swear words. I was so much in my zone that it really didn't bother me. The pain was manageable until the last 2 hours of labor. That's when it got hard and I was howling like a dog. Seriously! I was saying ouch and it would turn into aaaawoooow like a dog would sound howling. Burr told me after, that he had to look away so he wouldn't laugh. Oh well it got me through the pain. Bryce finally turned after I laid on my stomach and pulled my right knee up to my chest. When he decided to turn I felt the urge to push immediately. Unfortunately I had to wait for Dr Dziko to get to the hospital. I had to fight the urge to push and wait the horrendous 7 minutes until she got there. My nurse kept telling me to turn onto my back but I couldn't move, I was sure he was going to come out if I did. As soon as she walked in the door I turned on my back and started pushing. She had about 2 seconds to get her gloves on. Two pushes later and our beautiful baby boy came into the world. It was amazing! All the pain and pressure was suddenly gone.

This was my favorite thing hands down about my stay in the hospital. A heated toilet seat with a beday. All you ladies that have given birth will understand.

We got to sleep at home for one night then in was back to the hospital because Bryce's belirubin levels were to high. Here he is tanning under the lights

We were very blessed and got to go home the next day. He did great!

Bryce is here !!!

He is here after being a stubborn baby and not wanting to come out he finally shifted into to the right position and he came out with only a few pushes. Jenn did awesome she was so great, she did how she wanted to with out epi. she was in a lot of pain but she pushed and did a very good job. It was amazing, we love the little guy so much and our grateful for heavenly father to send him to our family. He is 8 pounds and 1 ounce, and 21 inches long. Jenn says he looks like a Brimhall.

Update

Jenn just got checked and is now at a 7. The contractions are stronger now and she is starting to feel more pain. But she says it is not that bad. She is not getting a epi, this time what a tropper, more update to come.

# 3 IS ON HIS WAY !!

We are in the hospital, we arrived at 6:15 am central time. Last time they checked Jenn was 3 and making progress. she is on pitocin, they have broke her water. Right now she is on a birthing ball bouncing around trying and get this baby out. I got off the train at about 1 am I came back from Creston Iowa, so im a little tired. Im really excited to see our new baby boy. I will keep posting blog updates all day long and give updates on what is going on. # 3 in is on his way.

Baby news

So my due date was today and no baby. I had an appointment today. The babies head is down but not engaged. The few contractions that I have had have not done a darn thing. My Aunt Sharon (not really related but is my moms good friend and we love her like family) got here on Tuesday to help and we can't wait for this baby any longer. I need to take advantage of Sharon while she is here. So here is the deal, We are going to the hospital at 6 am to get induced. I sooooo didn't want this to happen again but i am convinced that my body doesn't know how to go into labor on it's own. So hopefully by tomorrow afternoon we will have our new baby boy. I'll let you all know. Wish us luck!

SLEDDING FUN IN THE NEBRASKA SUN!

We recently went to pioneers park here in Lincoln to go sledding. Burr and the boys had so much fun. I was the designated photographer. Didn't think it would be a very good idea to go in my condition. The ramp was great. We let Brekken go down it but the ramp was a little too fast for Brock. It scared me to let Brock go down as it was, but he loved it. Every time he had to get off and let Brekken go down he threw himself down on the ground and threw a big fit. I could here people around me saying, "that poor little boy he must be freezing". I think people mean well but it annoyed me. I wanted to turn around and say mind your own business he is upset because he doesn't get to go down right now. Brekk was freezing by the time we got in the car but he had so much fun. I'm hoping it will snow again so we can go one more time.

Here are my boys all bundles up ready to go down the hill. I wish I would have taken a picture of the hill it was big

This ramp was great! Brekken and Burr would get going so fast I was afraid they were going to take run into someone.

I love this shot. Brekken happened to look over at the perfect time. My camera is so slow I wasn't sure I would even get them. Can you see the snow ball in Brekken's hand?

Out of the mouths of babes

So it finally happened, Brekken said something that I was hoping I could avoid his whole childhood. He actually said two things within a week of each other. On our drive to NE we stopped at Burger King to eat. After getting our seat and I got up to throw something in the garbage. When I got back Brekken said, " Mom I saw a fat guy". Wow was I ever mortified! There was a larger man sitting at the table next to us. I told Brekken that we don't say things like that, but I couldn't even look over at the man. I felt terrible. The next horrifying moment happened at church today. We were sitting in the pew, sacrament meeting had just begun and a very dark skinned black boy came in and sat in the pew in back of us. Can you see where this is going? Well my sweet little Brekken put his hand out to give the boy a high five. The boy clapped his hand and Brekk turned to me and said, "mom his hand is black". My mind is racing, what do I say! " Yes Brekken it is". I was hopping that would be the end of it but then he said, "and his face is black too". Just drop it kid is what I was thinking. He is so sweet, I love this little guy. Our little ones sure do put us in awkward positions don't they. Anyone have any advise the next time he says something that may really offend someone?

I'm back

So i feel like I finally have some time to breath. Between figuring out were we were going to go for work, what to do with our house (do we sell? do we rent?), getting the house packed and ready for renters, sending Burr off to NE, moving in with Christina for 10 days, visiting my parents in OR for 2 1/2 weeks, going to UT for Burr's grandmothers funeral, and finally making it to Lincoln, NE.... I haven't had much time for blogging. Oh did I mention I have less then 2 months until this new B boy is due. Well I have been in Lincoln for almost a week now. It's really nice here. I miss my friends terribly but I hope to make new friends soon. This Sunday will be the first Sunday here so we will get to go to church and meet people.

So my inspiration for starting this up today was something Brekk said when we were out shopping today. We were at Bed Bath and Beyond and got to the front where all the candy and toys were. This is how the conversation went.

Brekken: Mom I really want this candy.
Me: No Brekk, not today
Brekken: But mom I really want it.
Me: No you don't always get something every time we go somewhere so go put it back.
Brekken: Well I'm just not going to listen to you then, if you say that.
Me: You don't talk to me like that and go put that back right now.

By this point I'm really trying to stay calm but loosing my patients. So I stood by the exit waiting for him to take it back. When I realized this approach wasn't getting me anywhere I brought his over to where the candy was and told him to put it back and this is when it got funny and my little dramatic boy showed his true colors.

Brekken: Good bye candy. I really want you. I really want to have all of you candies. Sob sob sob....
He is talking to the candy like the candy is a person.

Later on that day we went to wallmart to get a few things. I saw some cups with the built in straws. I thought they would be great for Brekk because we are trying to get him off of the sippy cups. When I put them in the cart this is what was said

Brekken: Mom you are nice now.
Me: Why do you say that I'm nice now.
Brekken: because you got me these, and you said I couldn't get anything today.

Arrrrrrg! What in the world am I supposed to do? What am I teaching my son. He thinks he has to get something every time we go to the store. I think I will blame this one on Burr.
